Conservative radio host Chris Stigall is projected to replace retiring Rep. Sam Graves (R-Mo.), beating Democratic opponent Josh Smead and libertarian Andy Maidment in the race to represent Missouri’s 6th Congressional District, according to Decision Desk HQ.

Stigall, a staunch defender of President Trump, was seen as the top contender in the race’s GOP primary. He defended the Trump administration’s tariff policy, telling Spectrum News it was working and “we will see this level out for farmers in the future.”

“It is tough, and the thing that I know about farmers is, while they do know and feel these tariffs, are a very real hit, they also know that for decades they have been exploited by other countries that have been selling their goods on the cheap to us,” he continued. “President Trump is the first president, in a very long time, who came in and said, this isn’t right.”Stigall campaigned on defending Second Amendment freedoms, expanding rural healthcare, delivering tax relief for farmers and small businesses and opposing taxpayer funding for abortion access, according to his campaign website.

He also backed a proposed amendment in Missouri that would remove the state’s constitutional protection for abortion access. The proposal was on the ballot Tuesday after voters approved it in 2024, but a judge blocked parts of the measure.
