Alfonso faced off against Fred Clark, a former Democratic state representative. The GOP candidate was bolstered by endorsements from President Trump and Duffy. The Republican led his challenger by almost 11 percentage points — 55.3 to 44.7 percent — with 57 percent of the vote reported by DDHQ as of 10:25 p.m. Tuesday.
