The meeting comes as the leaders of some AI companies have issued warnings. President Donald Trump, House Speaker Mike Johnson and tech CEOs are expected to meet on artificial intelligence next week, according to multiple sources familiar with the scheduled meeting.

The meeting, set for Tuesday, Sept. 29, comes as leaders of the nation’s largest AI companies are issuing dire warnings about the threat of AI and calling for steps to slow it down before it outsmarts humans.

Trump has repeatedly called claims about the threat of AI a “hoax” and has appeared to reject the idea that new regulations are needed. The White House didn’t immediately respond to ABC News when asked about the meeting.
