Greek rescue workers on Friday were searching for six people, including at least four tourists, after a large explosion and the collapse of a two-story building in the central tourist district of the capital, Athens.

Speaking to reporters at the scene on Friday evening, some 12 hours after the collapse, Mayor Haris Doukas of Athens said that local authorities were helping fire service rescue workers in their search for signs of life in the rubble.
