Europe’s top oil refiner will buy back $2.5 billion of shares in the fourth quarter of 2026 and between $2 billion and $2.5 billion for the first quarter of 2027, the company said in a statement Monday, before an investor day in New York. That’s up from planned repurchases of $1.5 billion in the July-September period. It expects its debt gearing ratio to be below 10% by the end of the year.
