Iraqi Airways resumed its flights between the country's Najaf International Airport and Iranian airports on Monday, according to Iraqi state media.

The resumption came after Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi's "intensive efforts," state-run Iraqi News Agency (INA) reported.

The move came after Iraqi Ambassador to Iran Yasser Abdul Zahra Al-Hajjaj said earlier Monday that Najaf International Airport would resume receiving Iranian flights, the INA said.
