US President Donald Trump announced Wednesday that the last American forces are leaving Iraq, declaring an end to more than two decades of US military involvement in the country.
“今天，我很高兴地宣布，最后一批美军正在离开伊拉克！”特朗普在其社交媒体平台“真理社交网”（Truth Social）上写道。
“Today, I am pleased to announce that the last American Forces are leaving Iraq!”Trump said on his social media platform Truth Social.
他补充说：“我们已经在这场泥潭中陷了很久，正是最初那些极其糟糕的决策让我们卷入其中，但很快，这将成为历史的一部分。”
“It has been a long time, with very bad decision-making that got us involved in this quagmire in the first place, but soon, that will be part of History,” he added.
特朗普表示，这次撤离将标志“固有意志行动”（Operation Inherent Resolve）结束，并称联军部队和装备有序撤出埃尔比勒空军基地，象征着美国在伊拉克使命的有序收尾。总统还称赞了伊拉克新任总理阿里·扎伊迪。
Trump said the withdrawal would mark the end of Operation Inherent Resolve and described the departure of coalition forces and equipment from Erbil Air Base as an orderly conclusion to the US mission. The president also praised Iraq’s new prime minister, Ali al-Zaidi.

“This is a Great Day for America and, importantly, we leave with Iraq having a wonderful new Prime Minister, Ali al-Zaidi, somebody I supported from the beginning and fully endorsed,” Trump said.

“He won an Election that he was not expected to win, and did so, in a landslide!” he added.
