President Trump revealed in an interview published on Thursday that he regrets nominating conservative Justices Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh, and Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court. “Yeah. Yeah. What can I do? I put them in,” Trump told Time Magazine when asked if he regretted nominating the three justices to the high court. "They voted against me too often,” the president continued. “I gave them the position of a lifetime, and they vote against me often. They vote for me too.”

Trump went on to note how Democrats “stick like glue” when they vote, saying he admires the party’s loyalty to their leaders. “So they have loyalty to Barack Hussein Obama. They have loyalty to Biden, even though Biden doesn't even know who the hell they are. He wouldn't know. He doesn't even know what the Supreme Court is. And me, I gave them the chance of a lifetime, and it's unfortunate what they did,” he said. When asked if he wants loyalty from his Supreme Court picks, Trump said he wants “good decisions.”

The president also railed against the high court’s decision to strike down his executive order on birthright citizenship. The president’s latest comments come after he criticized the three justices for voting with the majority of the court to block his mail-in voting plan last month. “These are not the people I interviewed to serve on the United States Supreme Court, they are merely a shell of their original selves,” he wrote in a Truth Social post.

In February, the high court struck down the bulk of his tariffs in a 6-3 decision by rejecting his expanded use of the International Emergency Economic Powers Act in imposing tariffs on nearly every country. In another 6-3 decision, the high court ruled against Trump’s birthright citizenship ban in June, upholding the guarantees in the 14th Amendment.
