Christa Pike, 50, was taken to a hospital after the failed attempts to put her to death on Wednesday night. It was not clear how she survived the deadly doses of pentobarbital. “What we have been told is that she is in critical condition, receiving life-saving care,” Randy Spivey said in a virtual news conference.
