Sanofi and Regeneron Pharmaceuticals are expanding their partnership in a deal that could see the US drugmaker receive as much as $8 billion.

Under the new arrangement, Sanofi and Regeneron will co-develop and co-commercialize four new antibody drugs for diseases related to the immune system, the two companies said Thursday.

Expanding the collaboration with Regeneron had been one option flagged by analysts. Garijo indicated this year that was Sanofi’s intention but had pointed to challenges with the relationship. Regeneron sued Sanofi over its sharing of information but the two companies said Thursday they have now settled the litigation.
