Tillis, who is retiring at the end of his term, said Monday he was “not at all” concerned about the potential the president would retaliate against him for this book, which includes private text exchanges between himself and Trump. “We could dedicate a whole show, to me, the bookends of overreach and vindictive prosecutions, et cetera,” he said. “For people to forget about their party’s overreach puts that party in peril in the next election. That’s my whole point.”In the book, Tillis senator reflected on his vote to confirm Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, calling it the “biggest regret” of his career in Congress.
