Reps. Don Bacon, a Nebraska Republican, and Josh Gottheimer, a New Jersey Democrat, are asking House members for written pledges that they won’t block midterm winners from taking their seats. The effort follows months of claims by President Trump that some states’ voting practices are vulnerable to fraud and fears that lawmakers might contemplate parliamentary maneuvers to block their successors from taking over.
