Bahrain has recruited more than 1,800 security personnel and officers from Pakistan, the South Asian nation’s foreign minister said Thursday.

Ishaq Dar shared the information during the third session of the Pakistan-Bahrain joint ministerial commission held in Islamabad and co-chaired by Bahraini Foreign Minister Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani.
达尔在开场发言中对巴林同行表示：“我们再次感谢……巴林国民警卫队招募了1800名来自巴基斯坦的士兵，其中包括30名退役军官。”
"We thank, once again, for... recruiting in Bahrain National Guard, 1,800 soldiers from Pakistan, including 30 retired army officers," Dar said in his initial remarks, addressing his Bahraini counterpart.
据国营巴基斯坦电视台直播的会议画面显示，达尔对阿勒扎亚尼说：“我向您保证，他们将出色完成任务。他们将非常守纪律……被称为世界上‘最好的军队’和准军事部队。”达尔感谢巴林同行。
“I assure you that they will do a great job,” Dar told Al Zayani, according to a livestream of the meeting broadcast by the state-run Pakistan TV. "They will be very disciplined... known (as) best army" and para military force "in the world," said Dar, thanking his Bahraini counterpart.
他补充说，根据巴基斯坦海岸警卫队与巴林内政部于6月24日签署的协议，还有13名巴基斯坦军官和37名士兵加入了巴林海岸警卫队。
He added that 13 officers and 37 soldiers from Pakistan had also joined the Bahrain Coast Guard under an agreement signed on June 24 between the Pakistan Coast Guard and Bahrain’s Interior Ministry.

Dar and Al Zayani also discussed the conflict in the Middle East and emphasized de-escalation of the US-Iran war and the conflict between Saudi Arabia and Yemen’s Houthi group.

Pakistan and Bahrain will mark 55 years of diplomatic ties next year and have set a target of $1 billion in bilateral trade. The Gulf nation hosts around 134,000 Pakistani nationals.

Dar also said they discussed the conflict in Palestine, reiterating Pakistan's principled support for the Palestinian people and their inalienable rights.

"We expressed concern over the continued expansion of illegal settlement and attempts to alter the status of Al-Quds al-Sharif," said Dar, stressing the need for unhindered humanitarian assistance to the people of Gaza.

Turning to South Asia, Dar said India's suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty "constitutes a material breach of international law and represents a dangerous attempt to weaponise shared water resources. Such action jeopardizes the water, food and energy security of Pakistan’s 250 million people.

India suspended the Indus Waters Treaty and stopped sharing water data with Pakistan last year following an attack in Indian-administered Kashmir that killed 26 people.
