Prime Minister Robert Fico called for the immediate removal of a statue mocking US President Donald Trump from the European Parliament’s premises in Strasbourg.
菲佐在周四的一份电子邮件声明中表示：“在呼吁对话与相互尊重的时刻，在官方场所侮辱合作伙伴是对我们所处时代缺乏理解的表现。”
“At a time that calls for dialog and mutual respect, insulting partners at official premises is a failure to understand the times we live in,” Fico said in an emailed statement on Thursday.

The sculpture by a Danish artist that’s coated in gold depicts Trump naked, and sitting on the shoulders of another man and holding the scales of justice in one hand and a golf club in the other.
菲佐在声明中质问道：“欧洲议会领导层会同意展示嘲讽法国总统或德国总理的雕像吗？”他补充说，他并不总是同意美国总统的观点。
“Would the leadership of the European Parliament agree to the display of mocking depictions of the French president or the German chancellor?”Fico asked in the statement, adding that he doesn’t always agree with the US president.
菲佐认为欧盟成员国身份对斯洛伐克至关重要，但同时也对布鲁塞尔在能源政策、移民问题以及对乌克兰的支持等方面持批评态度。
Fico, whose country joined the EU in 2004, believes membership in the bloc is essential for Slovakia. At the same time, he is critical of Brussels for its energy policies, approach to migration and support for Ukraine.
