Today, as was the case a year and a half ago, the most critical elements of American support have been called into question at a particularly difficult moment for Ukraine. This is especially true for US intelligence sharing – vital for anticipating Russian bombardments – and the use of the Starlink satellite network.

In an interview with British journalist Piers Morgan on Wednesday, October 14, the Ukrainian president lamented the new restrictions placed on the Starlink network, whose satellites are critical for guiding Ukrainian drones. "It’s a big mistake," Zelensky warned. "This decision will bring a lot of human losses." On Tuesday, he also confirmed that the United States had warned Ukraine that it could cut off access to American intelligence in order to pressure Kyiv to halt its attacks on Russian refineries.
