Donald Trump’s super political action committee unloaded $277 million from the start of September through the first two weeks of October to bolster Republican candidates in midterm election contests, while raking in another $25 million in fundraising.

Casino tycoon Stephen Wynn, Blackstone Inc.’s Stephen Schwarzman and billionaire Diane Hendricks were among the donors writing big checks, according to the latest filings with the Federal Election Commission. Since launching two days after Trump won his second term, MAGA Inc. has raised $449 million, an unprecedented sum for a second-term president.

The haul is the latest addition to the $2.1 billion raised by the Republican Party and the three super PACs tied to Trump or GOP House and Senate leaders, a staggering amount that far outpaces the $1.3 billion raised by their Democratic counterparts, though one committee, the House Majority PAC, has yet to file its report on its September fundraising.

The GOP cash advantage has been one of the few bright spots for the party heading into midterm elections where its majorities in the House and Senate are both imperiled, as voters have soured on Trump amid persistent cost-of-living concerns.

MAGA Inc. spent $33.8 million directly backing GOP House and Senate candidates and sent $225 million to a pair of affiliated super political action committees called No Going Back PAC and Safety and Affordability PAC from Sept. 1 through Oct. 14. Those two committees combined have spent $208 million backing Republicans, their filings with the FEC show.

Trump’s super PACs have spent at least $1 million in eight Senate contests. The Texas Senate race between State Representative James Talarico, a Democrat, and Ken Paxton, the state’s Republican attorney general, had the most spending, at $36 million. The groups also spent in Georgia and North Carolina, where incumbent Senator Jon Ossoff and former Governor Roy Cooper, respectively, have opened up wide enough leads in the polls that Republican groups have pulled spending.

The super PACs have spent at least $1 million in 33 House races, with Florida’s 25th District, where the GOP has a chance to pick up a seat in a race rated “lean Democrat” by the Cook Political Report, seeing $7.9 million in spending.

Democrats have long been favored to retake the House, which the GOP narrowly controls. A president’s party traditionally loses House seats in the midterms. In the Senate, Democrats need a net pickup of four seats to reclaim control of the chamber — a gain once thought to be out of reach, but that now looks possible, with polling showing competitive contests in even some reliably red states.

In a Truth Social post Tuesday, Trump wrote that he would spend more than $400 million to help Republicans in the November midterm elections, seeking to reassure the GOP it will have adequate funding as the political environment worsens for the party. He added that he had already spent $300 million.

MAGA Inc. was slow to unleash its cash. Through the end of June, it had spent 0.6% of the money it had raised to that point to aid Republican candidates. Some GOP officials and donors worried that the money would ultimately be used for some other purpose, like funding his presidential library.
