Two men who were re-arrested as part of an investigation into a suspected terror plot near RAF Fairford can be held for up to seven days after police were given more time to question them.

A warrant of further detention was granted for the two men at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, Counter Terrorism Policing (CTP) said.

The two men, both from the borough of Westminster, London, were re-arrested on Tuesday on suspicion of assisting a foreign intelligence service.

Five other UK nationals in their mid-20s were also arrested after the incident. All are still on police bail as the investigation continues.
