Energia SGPS SA’s planned combination of its Iberian refining and fuel distribution businesses with Spain’s Moeve is at risk of collapsing, the Portuguese news website ECO reported, citing two sources it didn’t identify.
The companies have failed to agree on terms as Paula Amorim, Galp’s largest shareholder, hasn’t accepted demands by Moeve, ECO reported.
A spokesman for Galp, which is owned by Abu Dhabi’s Mubadala Investment Co. and Carlyle Group Inc., declined to comment.
Galp, Portugal’s largest oil company, said in January it was in preliminary discussions with Moeve’s owners about combining their Iberian downstream businesses by creating two joint ventures covering retail fuel distribution and industrial activities. An agreement was expected to be reached by the end of 2026.
