LIV Golf named Mark King, who previously led the TaylorMade golf brand, as a senior adviser to help lead the entity’s turnaround attempt.

King will remain as interim chief executive officer of Jack in the Box, LIV said in a statement. King was appointed to his role at the fast-food chain in May.

LIV, which entered bankruptcy last month, said that it remained on track to complete a transaction with the credit arm of BC Partners. It’s a $300 million investment that is reliant on LIV retaining enough players for its revamped version of the league.

It’s unclear how many players BC Partners wants LIV to maintain and how many have agreed to stay. The Financial Times reported on Sunday that about 15 golfers have committed to joining LIV’s 2027 season, which would satisfy BC Partners, citing unnamed sources. The Sports Business Journal reported on King’s hiring earlier.
