STMicroelectronics Beats Q3 Profit Estimates on AI and Chip Recovery, Guides Q4 Revenue Above Expectations

STMicroelectronics reported third-quarter results on Thursday, Oct. 29, with revenue of $3.76 billion and operating income excluding one-offs of $429 million, up 98% year-on-year and above the $400.5 million LSEG consensus. The Franco-Italian chipmaker forecast fourth-quarter revenue of $4.15 billion, plus or minus 3.5%, versus $4.10 billion expected. CEO Jean-Marc Chery cited demand well above supply. The company attributed strength to AI data centres, satellite operators, and higher sales of communication equipment, computer peripherals and personal electronics.
