Foxconn, the world’s largest contract electronics manufacturer, on Friday said it was working on a collaboration with leading US artificial intelligence developer OpenAI, though details were scarce.

Foxconn Chairman Young Liu told reporters at the company’s annual event, which showcases its technology, that he had met OpenAI Chief Executive Sam Altman earlier in the day and that an announcement would follow once details were confirmed.

Brand Cheng, chairman of unit Foxconn Industrial Internet (FII), told Reuters on Friday that more than 10 humanoid robots had been deployed at its Texas facilities for internal use. Foxconn plans to extend deployment beyond Texas, he added.
