Tata Motors on Friday, October 30, acquired an 89.42% stake in Italian commercial vehicle maker Iveco for nearly 3.43 billion euros following the initial settlement of its cash tender offer, taking control of a European firm with revenue of ₹1,42,471 crore, even as the buyout process continues. The acquisition of Iveco, which has become an indirect subsidiary of the Indian auto major, is Tata Motors' biggest since it bought Jaguar Land Rover from Ford in 2008.

The settlement follows the completion of the acceptance period for the voluntary tender offer, under which Tata Motors offered EUR 14.4 per share in cash for Iveco's common shares.
