South Carolina’s newly elected senator Annie Andrews (D) said her focus will be on “delivering results” and not a “retribution tour” following her victory in the midterm elections.

In the historically red state of South Carolina, Andrews won a competitive Senate race against Republican Sen. Darline Graham (S.C.), who was picked to succeed her late brother Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.).

Andrews won by over 4 percentage points and over 90,000 votes, according to nonpartisan election forecaster Decision Desk HQ, a partner of The Hill. The forecaster narrowly favored Graham ahead of the elections.

Four years later, she won her Senate bid, becoming the first Democrat to hold a Senate seat from the state in decades.
