UNITED NATIONS, United States - German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul called on Moscow to “abandon its dangerous path of escalation” during a meeting with Russia’s Sergei Lavrov at the UN on Sept 26, a diplomat for Berlin said.
此次会谈正值柏林与莫斯科关系近几周急剧紧张之际，德国指责俄罗斯策划了针对莱比锡机场的无人机袭击未遂事件，双方并互下令关闭对方领事馆。
The talks took place as tensions between Berlin and Moscow intensified in recent weeks, with Germany accusing Russia of orchestrating an attempted drone attack on Leipzig airport and each country ordering the closure of the other’s consulate.
这位德国外交官表示：“瓦德富尔呼吁俄罗斯联邦放弃其针对德国、欧洲和北约的危险升级路径。”
“Wadephul called on the Russian Federation to abandon its dangerous path of escalation vis-a-vis Germany, Europe, and NATO,” the German diplomat said.

Before the meeting with Lavrov, the German side demanded that media access be restricted and that the opening remarks not be recorded, Moscow’s foreign ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said, according to the Russia’s TASS news agency. She said the Sept 26 meeting was initiated by Berlin and lasted about 20 minutes.
