By Linda Lew Zhejiang Geely Holding Group Co. will buy a 30% stake in rival electric carmaker Nio Inc.’s battery swapping unit for 640 million yuan ($95 million), providing support for a cash intensive technology that Nio has been spearheading.
根据周一的声明，吉利还将注入一家换电子公司100%股权以及6.4亿元现金，以换取蔚来能源股份。该交易对蔚来能源的估值为160亿元人民币。
Geely will also include 100% equity interest of a battery swapping subsidiary as well as 640 million yuan in cash for the stake in Nio Power. The deal values Nio Power at 16 billion yuan, according to a statement on Monday.
此次合作正值蔚来寻求进一步商业化其换电业务之际。该技术是其电动汽车的独特卖点，车主可在几分钟内将耗尽的电池更换为充满电的电池，但建设和维护换电站需要巨额投资和运营成本。宁德时代去年向蔚来能源投资25亿元人民币，合作在全国建设换电网络。
The partnership comes as Nio continues to look for ways to further commercialize its battery swapping business. The technology is a unique selling point for its electric vehicles where drivers can replace a depleted battery with a charged one in a few minutes, but requires heavy investment and operational costs to build and maintain swapping stations. Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Ltd. invested 2.5 billion yuan into Nio Power last year in a collaboration to build out a battery swapping network across China.
