The White House called on Kimberly Guilfoyle to step down as U.S. ambassador to Greece, after The Wall Street Journal reported that she had solicited $100,000 from a Trump donor in the runup to her confirmation hearing last year.

“We have asked Ambassador Guilfoyle to resign. She has been a wonderful asset to the team and we wish her well,” White House press secretary Katie Zacharia said on Tuesday.
