House Press Secretary Katie Zacharia said the administration had asked US Ambassador to Greece Kimberly Guilfoyle to resign from her post following allegations of unethical conduct.

“She has been a wonderful asset to the team and we wish her well,” Zacharia told reporters Tuesday during a White House briefing.

The Wall Street Journal in a series of stories reported that Guilfoyle solicited or accepted money or other benefits from private individuals while offering to use her influence and connections with administration officials to help further their interests.
