Emerging-market stocks and currencies advanced after softer-than-expected US jobs data and a further decline in oil prices helped ease concern over aggressive interest-rate hikes by the Federal Reserve.

MSCI Inc.’s gauge for developing-market equities climbed as much as 1.1% on Monday, the most in about two weeks. An index for EM currencies rose 0.3%, while a broad Bloomberg gauge of the dollar was little changed.

Brent crude erased an early gain to drop below $102 per barrel. That’s after a 2% slide last week. Data on Friday showed US nonfarm payrolls rose 29,000 last month, missing all estimates in a Bloomberg survey, and prompting money markets to price in fewer chances of an October rate increase.
新加坡Lombard Odier策略师Homin Lee表示：“上周美国非农就业和核心PCE通胀数据均意外走弱，进一步支持美国将经历有限幅度加息周期的判断，从而给新兴市场带来一定利好。”
“Last week’s downside surprises in nonfarm payroll and core PCE inflation in the US are strengthening the outlook for a limited hiking cycle in the US and thus providing a degree of relief for emerging markets,” said Homin Lee, a strategist at Lombard Odier in Singapore.
科技板块是新兴市场股票指数上涨的最大贡献者。台湾积体电路制造股份有限公司（台积电）股价上涨逾3%，市场乐观认为这家芯片巨头与埃隆·马斯克的Terafab展开讨论后，双方可能达成合作。韩国和中国内地市场因假日休市。
Technology was by far the biggest contributor to gains on the EM equities gauge. Shares of heavyweight Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. jumped more than 3% on optimism that a discussion between the chip giant and Elon Musk’s Terafab will lead to a potential collaboration. Markets in South Korea and mainland China were shut for holidays.

Meanwhile, shares of Chinese electric vehicle-makers including BYD Co. dropped in Hong Kong following a media report that the UK is planning to impose levies on imports.
