Former Haitian President Joseph Michel Martelly registered online Friday as a presidential candidate for the upcoming election, bringing the total number of registered contenders to 16, The Haitian Times reported.

Martelly registered under Debloke, a political coalition that includes former members of the Haitian Tet Kale Party (PHTK), which he once led. His registration remains preliminary pending document submission and approval by Haiti’s Provisional Electoral Council (CEP).
