Rescue teams were on Wednesday searching north-eastern France for the navigator of a French air force jet, after the pilot died in a crash on Tuesday night in bad weather.
这架“Mirage 2000D”喷气机是在晚上10点40分左右，在楠西（Nancy）附近从楠西-奥谢（Nancy-Ochey）空军基地133起飞执行训练任务时坠毁的。
The Mirage 2000D jet went down at around 10.40pm near Nancy during a training flight from Nancy-Ochey Air Base 133.
“对于楠西空军基地来说，近年来已经发生过多次此类事故，这次事件无疑是一个巨大的打击，”基地指挥官吕多维克·亨伯特（Ludovic Humbert）表示。
“For Nancy Air Base, which has already been involved in this type of accident in recent years, this is a terrible shock,” said base commander Ludovic Humbert.

“We had a highly experienced navigator and a young pilot who arrived at the base with all the prerequisites and qualifications needed to fly a Mirage," he added.

Humbert said the flight was part of routine night-time training missions, and confirmed that an investigation was under way into the crash.
默尔特-摩泽尔（Meurthe-et-Moselle）大区的省长伊夫·塞吉（Yves Séguy）表示：“接到消息后，我们在恶劣的天气条件下立即启动了所有可能的救援行动。由于救援地点地形复杂、难以到达，救援工作十分困难。”他还提到，救援队伍得到了无人机的协助。
Yves Séguy, prefect of the Meurthe-et-Moselle region, said: “As soon as we received the information, we obviously launched all the rescue operations that were possible in difficult weather conditions and at a rugged site that was not easy to access." Teams on foot were assisted by a drone, he said.

"It wasn't possible to send a helicopter... night-time, fog, extremely bad weather... so that was not feasible,” he added.
