Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa held talks on Wednesday in Damascus with US envoy Tom Barrack to discuss developments in Syria and the region.

Sharaa met with Barrack at the People's Palace, in the presence of Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani, according to a statement by the Syrian presidency.
声明称，会谈涉及“在若干共同关心的问题上开展合作与协调，服务两国利益，并有助于加强安全与稳定”。
The talks covered “cooperation and coordination on a number of issues of mutual interest, serving the interests of both countries and contributing to enhancing security and stability,” the statement said.
总统府未说明会谈讨论了哪些具体问题，也未提供会谈的进一步细节。
The presidency did not specify which issues were discussed during the meeting or provide further details about the talks.
8月24日，美国取消了叙利亚“支持恐怖主义国家”的认定。华盛顿同时撤销了对“沙姆解放组织”作为特别指定全球恐怖实体的认定，并将该组织从外国资产控制办公室的制裁名单中移除。
On Aug. 24, the US removed Syria’s designation as a “state sponsor of terrorism.”Washington also revoked its designation of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham as a specially designated global terrorist entity and removed the group from the Office of Foreign Assets Control’s sanctions list.
此前，美国根据2025年6月发布的一项行政命令解除了对叙利亚的制裁，此举是在2024年12月巴沙尔·阿萨德政权垮台之后采取的。
Earlier, the US removed its sanctions on Syria under an executive order issued in June 2025, following the ouster of Bashar al-Assad’s regime in December 2024.
