MUMBAI -- India's Adani Enterprises broke a streak of quarterly losses as it reported a profit for the three months through September, aided by strong profits in the copper smelting, renewable energy products and airports divisions.

Consolidated net profit for the July-September quarter stood at 14.9 billion rupees ($156.7 million), the company reported on Wednesday, after it posted a loss of 11.6 billion rupees in the April-June quarter, hit by a 26.44 billion rupee settlement of a U.S. sanctions probe. The flagship company run by Gautam Adani, one of Asia's richest men, had also reported a loss in the January-March quarter.
