A US-brokered, localized ceasefire in Ukraine's Kherson region ended Sunday night after Russia refused to extend the agreement. This six-day pause in fighting, which began on Tuesday, was the longest local truce since Russia's full-scale invasion in 2022. While no violations were reported within the Kherson region during the ceasefire, Russia struck energy infrastructure in at least four other regions, and Moscow and Kyiv continued strikes elsewhere.

This followed the evacuation of busloads of residents from the embattled town of Oleshky two days prior.
