Iranian security chief Mohsen Rezaei has claimed that Pakistani army chief Asim Munir warned of growing Hindu-Jewish ties against Muslims and Pakistan during a meeting with Saudi, Turkish and Iranian representatives in Tehran. Iran's top security official, Mohsen Rezaei, has claimed that Pakistani army chief Asim Munir warned of growing ties between Hindus and Jews directed against Muslims and Pakistan. The remarks were allegedly made during a four-nation security meeting in Tehran on October 26. A video of Rezaei talking about Munir and Turkish intelligence chief Ibrahim Kalin, portraying India-Israel ties as a threat to Pakistan and the wider Muslim world.

Lahore-based news outlet 24 News HD, cited an interview of Iranian security chief Mohsen Rezaei with Iranian state broadcaster IRIB, to report that Munir raised concerns over growing ties between Hindus and Jews directed against Muslims and Pakistan.

The October 26 meeting brought together Iran, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Turkey amid tensions involving Israel and the United States. Field Marshal Munir represented Pakistan, Kalin was the Turkish representative, while Saudi Arabia and Iran were represented by Defence Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman and security chief Rezaei, respectively.

The four-nation meeting came days after Munir's earlier visit to Tehran, during which videos showed the army chief in talks with Rezaei and other Iranian officials. In footage published by Al Arabiya on October 20, Rezaei appeared stiff and reserved while greeting Munir.

Among several Pakistani experts, journalist Najam Sethi also identified Munir as the official behind the Hindu-Jewish remarks. Discussing Rezaei's account, Sethi on his YouTube channel, said Munir had warned that an alliance between Hindus and Jews was a "major threat" and had spoken of a "geopolitical convergence against Muslims and Pakistan".

Days before the October 26 meeting, India's National Security Adviser Ajit Doval held a telephone conversation with Mohsen Rezaei to discuss the latest regional and international developments, the Iranian Embassy said.

Hafiz-e-Quran Munir has repeatedly invoked religious differences between Hindus and Muslims. He has said that the two communities are fundamentally distinct. Days before the Pakistan-backed Pahalgam terror attack in April 2025, he raised the rhetoric, saying that Hindus and Muslims differed in their religion, customs, traditions, thoughts and ambitions. He also invoked the Two-Nation Theory. So, the latest remarks attributed to Munir by Rezaei, though unverified, are consistent with his rhetoric. This time he also brought the Jews into the picture.

WHAT MUNIR SAID, ACCORDING TO IRAN'S SECURITY CHIEF In an interview with Iranian state television on October 31, Rezaei discussed the four-way security talks held five days earlier.

According to Pakistani outlet 24 News HD Rezaei claimed that the visiting Saudi, Turkish and Pakistani officials had expressed strong concerns about Israel.

Referring to Munir, Rezaei said he had spoken about "the Israeli threat and the ties being formed between Hindus and Jews, against Muslims, and against Pakistan".

Rezaei said Turkish intelligence chief Kalin also spoke strongly about the threat from Israel.

TIES DEEPENING BETWEEN INDIA AND ISRAEL The growing India-Israel partnership rests on defence and intelligence cooperation, counterterrorism, trade, agriculture, water management and emerging technologies, with both countries elevating ties to a Special Strategic Partnership during PM Narendra Modi's February 2026 visit to Israel.

Israel was also the only nation that openly backed India's right to self-defence during Operation Sindoor against Pakistan in May 2025. Israel's Ambassador to India, Reuven Azar, had said that terrorists had nowhere to hide.

In February this year, Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu proposed a "hexagon of alliances" involving India, Israel, Greece, Cyprus and other countries to counter what he called radical Shia and Sunni axes. In October, he named India as a key partner in his plans to build alternative alliances, warning that Israel could face a hostile US administration after President Donald Trump leaves the White House. NAJAM SETHI SAYS ASIM MUNIR SPOKE ABOUT HINDU-HEWISH THREAT Pakistani journalist Najam Sethi also discussed Rezaei's revelations during a YouTube programme on regional tensions. "He [Rezaei] was explaining what Asim Munir had told him," Sethi said.

Sethi then attributed a warning to Munir, saying, "Look, this alliance between Hindus and Jews is a very big threat to us." "He appeared very relaxed and was explaining what Asim Munir had told him and what the Saudi Defence Minister had told him. He seemed quite approving, as if saying they had made a very good point. Asim Munir said, 'Look, this alliance between Hindus and Jews is a very big threat to us'," Sethi said.

He added that Munir had spoken about a "geopolitical convergence against Muslims and Pakistan".

Interestingly, Rezaei and Munir had met just six days before the four-nation meeting on October 26. On October 20, Munir travelled to Tehran as part of Pakistan's efforts to mediate between Iran and the United States. He met President Masoud Pezeshkian, Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and Rezaei. According to the footage of the meeting, Rezaei remained visibly stiff as Munir leaned towards him during their greeting.

In the earlier meeting, Rezaei insisted that Iran would retain its enriched nuclear material and would not negotiate with Washington without confidence-building measures.

The next meeting on October 26 was part of efforts to contain the regional war and prevent further military escalation. However, the remarks attributed to Munir remain Rezaei's account of a private diplomatic conversation.

So, Munir has repeatedly drawn sharp distinctions between Hindus and Muslims. He has even invoked the Two-Nation Theory and Pakistan's Islamic identity. His alleged warning about a Hindu-Jewish alliance against Muslims and Pakistan, though unverified, fits a familiar pattern in his rhetoric.
