Coloradans will choose their next governor Tuesday, with two-term incumbent Jared Polis (D) ineligible to seek a third consecutive term. The Democratic nominee is state Attorney General Phil Weiser, who somewhat surprisingly beat three-term Sen. Michael Bennet (D) in the July primary. Weiser, who previously was dean of the University of Colorado Law School, ran as the more progressive option in the race, defeating Bennet by about 14 points.
