Brazil's 2032 inflation-linked government bond now pays inflation plus 8.03%, up from 7.89% on Friday, as investors brace for Wednesday's central bank rate decision.

Yields on Brazil's benchmark inflation-linked government bond rose again on Monday, with the 2032-maturity note now paying inflation plus 8.03%, up from 7.89% at the end of last week. The move came two days before the central bank's Copom committee meets to decide the Selic policy rate, a decision investors are watching closely for signs of how aggressively borrowing costs will be adjusted.

The inflation-linked notes, known as NTN-Bs, are widely held by retail savers and pension funds seeking protection against Brazil's persistently elevated consumer prices. Rising real yields on the bonds typically reflect investors demanding more compensation, either because they expect inflation to run hotter than previously priced in, or because they see a greater chance the central bank will hold rates steady rather than cut.

Brazil's benchmark rate has stayed in restrictive territory for much of the year as policymakers try to bring inflation back toward target without triggering a sharper slowdown. Wednesday's Copom decision will be parsed for guidance on the bank's next moves heading into 2027, with traders and economists split over whether a cut, a hold, or a further hike is most likely.
