Another 1,770 people from 354 households were displaced from villages in Sudan’s southern Blue Nile state amid deteriorating security, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) said Tuesday.

The UN agency said in a statement that field teams estimated the displacement Monday from several villages in Wad al-Mahi locality. The affected villages included Amiri, Jabal Nimr, Abu Qaddaf, Bashkarkat, Ab Jankour, Makla, Manqita, Jabal al-Nou, Mezna and Manshilang.

Those displaced headed to Al-Rosaires locality in the Blue Nile state, it added. The figures bring the number displaced from Wad al-Mahi villages over three days to 5,525 from 1,105 households, according to IOM.

On Monday, the agency reported that 955 people from 191 households fled several villages Sunday. It announced Sunday that 2,800 people from 560 households fled 10 villages Saturday, also because of deteriorating security.
今年9月13日，国际移民组织曾发布数据称，今年1月11日至8月23日期间，青尼罗河州共有19,497个家庭的99,277人被迫流离失所。
On Sept. 13, IOM reported that 99,277 people from 19,497 households had been displaced in Blue Nile state between Jan. 11 and Aug. 23.
近期，苏丹青尼罗河州的军事冲突愈发激烈：准军事组织“快速支援部队”与苏丹人民解放运动北方派系联手，对当地多个地区发动了攻击。
Blue Nile has witnessed a military escalation in recent days as the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and the allied Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North launched attacks on several areas.

Sudan’s humanitarian suffering has worsened during the war between the army and the RSF, which began in April 2023 because of a dispute about unifying the military. The conflict has killed tens of thousands of people and displaced 13 million.
