And, strong Panama quake shakes nation, but avoids major destruction. This is Reuters World News, bringing you everything you need to know from the front lines in ten minutes, seven days a week. But first, some breaking news in Saudi Arabia. More than a dozen ambulances were seen rushing to Riyadh's international airport, and travelers were evacuated from parts of the facility after a loud blast was heard there.

That's according to an eyewitness and people briefed on the matter. The incident comes after a series of Houthi attacks on the Saudi capital this week that have already disrupted air travel. The Saudi government's media office and the Saudi Civil Aviation Authority did not immediately respond to requests for comment on the incident. For the latest developments, visit Reuters.com.

India's capital is under heavy security after authorities detained Abhijeet Dipke, the founder of the Cockroach youth movement, and scores of other protestors ahead of a rally demanding the resignation of India's top election official Gyanesh Kumar. Metro stations have been closed, mobile internet suspended and thousands of security personnel deployed across New Delhi. Reuters correspondent Aftab Ahmed is in New Delhi.

So New Delhi is right now completely fortified with something that I haven't seen in my last 20 years of living in Delhi. The mood is bleak. There is an eerie sort of situation in Delhi where you can see columns of security forces walking with batons, with riot gears, and it is quite intimidating right now in Delhi.

At the center of the dispute are allegations that millions of names were removed from India's voter rolls, claims election officials deny.

What the youth protesters have shown is that they have this tenacity to come back and keep protesting. Even as they are getting detained right now, they are pouring in in different parts of Delhi and they are being put into buses and they have been removed from those places but they are coming back in hundreds. So it seems like this tension between authorities and the civilian protesters will go on for some time. The arrest of Abhijeet Dipke, the founder of Cockroach Janata Party, could turn things more tense.

US, Ukrainian and European negotiators spent six hours in talks in Miami on Friday, aiming to reach an agreement on a unified proposal to end the war in Ukraine. The talks come after President Trump announced a deal to bring Russian diesel back into global markets after temporarily lifting sanctions on Russian fuel. Russia will immediately supply more than 300,000 metric tons of diesel to US and global markets, as Trump says more will folllow.

Analysts said the agreement was unlikely to lead to sustained lower fuel prices, as the average US diesel price sits at $6.28 a gallon. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy criticized the move, saying it would benefit Moscow's war effort. Meanwhile, at least 12 people were killed by a Russian attack on the southern Ukrainian city of Zaporizhzhia. A video from an eyewitness captures the moment a powerful earthquake strikes Panama, with an electrical line exploding and people running for safety.

A magnitude 7.7 earthquake damaged buildings and set thousands into the streets across Panama. Despite more than 40 aftershocks, there are no immediate reports of deaths or serious injuries, and key infrastructure including the Panama Canal and the country's main airport remains operational. Officials are now assessing the damage.

As residents describe strong, prolonged shaking that sent people running into the streets. Meanwhile in the US, Hurricane Isaias has rapidly lost wind speed, weakening into Category 1 storm after making landfall in Florida. But the threat remains, with warnings of danger from storm surges and flash flooding. More than half a million homes and businesses across Florida and Alabama are without power.

President Donald Trump says he "absolutely" approved the execution of Nidal Hasan, the former army psychiatrist convicted of killing 13 people at Fort Hood in Texas. Speaking to reporters, Trump said he had signed off on the execution, but had not yet decided whether the footage of it should be shown via live stream.

I really don't care how he goes, as long as he goes. And I think that the death penalty is a very worthy way of going. The proposal to live-stream the execution has drawn criticism from human rights groups. Public executions constitute a form of cruel, inhuman, or degrading treatment or punishment. That's Shabia Mantoo, a spokesperson for the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights. The live streaming of an execution is tantamount to a public execution and would breach the absolute prohibition of torture.

Our Pentagon reporter Phil Stewart says the military's decision to broadcast the execution on December 3rd would be unprecedented in many ways.

What was really shocking and what really surprised a lot of people was the Pentagon would decide to do this execution publicly for a whole host of reasons. A lot of former national security officials are making the point that doing this could help inspire a whole new group of extremists who will see this and think that it is something that needs to be fought against. America's enemies will use this for their propaganda and some people just say that it's morally beneath the United States to publicize this kind of violence, executions are something that the US should do maybe, but that they shouldn't be done publicly.

They should be done with the sobriety that the act of killing someone deserves. And of course, there's those like the National Bishops Conference who are opposed to the death penalty and think the whole thing should be called off altogether. So there's a whole range of opinions. Pete Hegseth, the defense secretary, believes that this public display of the shooting will be a deterrent. To other would-be attackers.

I've never heard of the person. I know a lot of people I've never heard of this particular person, but congratulations anyway.

President Trump is criticizing the Nobel Committee after it awarded this year's Peace Prize to former UN Judge Navi Pillay for what it called her efforts to promote peace and international law. Speaking at a rally in New York, Trump said he deserved the award instead, citing what he says is his role in resolving multiple international conflicts. Trump has long argued he should receive a Nobel Peace Prize. On Friday, he called the decision a disgrace and said it left what he described as an "indelible stain" on Norway, which hosts the Nobel committee.

Turning to the Middle East, our next story looks at the lasting human impact of the war in Gaza. Two and a half year old  Bissan, her eyes wide behind her pink-framed glasses, is transfixed as her mother helps her feed a monkey at a little zoo in Gaza.

In October 2023, an Israeli strike hit her family home, killing a sister she never got to meet and forcing her injured mother Sundus to deliver her six weeks early. She was then one of 29 premature babies evacuated out of Gaza in an incubator as Israeli forces closed in. She spent the first years of her life without her mother, in a hospital and then in a care home in Egypt. In March this year, a UN-assisted mission brought  Bissan back to Gaza, and back to her mum.

But after two years apart,  Bissan didn't recognize her. And Sundus says she initially called every kind woman "mama". Since then she's been reclaiming her title one moment at a time. But says her daughter's new life in Gaza is a far cry for what she knew in Egypt. There she's being attending a nursery and now she's sleeping in a tent.

And she says now the hardest thing is watching her freeze in silence every time she hears an explosion. Sundus says her only consolation is that  Bissan knows who she is now and who to reach for.
