Regardless of political views, what is happening in France right now has absolutely nothing to do with protest or demonstration (“Why France Is Burning,” Review & Outlook, Oct. 19). Social media has been flooded with video clips of clearly masked people, along with far-left youths and destructive men from migrant backgrounds who, acting in packs like hyenas, are plunging French cities into chaos.

This is a clearly recognizable anti-Western uprising. These people have no desire to integrate; they do not want to be part of Europe or part of the West. They would like nothing more than to sweep it away, and that is exactly what we are starting to see in its early stages.
