Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi held expanded talks with Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani in the southern Jordanian city of Aqaba on Thursday.
约旦外交部在美资社交媒体平台上表示：“副总理兼外交和侨务大臣艾曼·萨法迪目前正在亚喀巴与友好国家叙利亚阿拉伯共和国外交和侨务大臣阿萨德·沙伊巴尼举行扩大会谈。”叙利亚官方通讯社萨纳（SANA）报道，沙伊巴尼周四早些时候抵达亚喀巴的侯赛因国王国际机场，受到萨法迪迎接。
“Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi is currently holding expanded talks with the Foreign Minister and Expatriates of the sisterly Syrian Arab Republic, Asaad al-Shaibani, in Aqaba,” the Jordanian Foreign Ministry said on US social media platform Earlier Thursday, Shaibani arrived at King Hussein International Airport in Aqaba, where he was received by Safadi, Syria’s official SANA news agency reported.

The visit aims to “strengthen bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries and discuss common issues of mutual interest,” the agency said.
据萨纳报道，此次访问是在萨法迪与沙伊巴尼于10月13日通电话之后进行的，双方在通话中讨论了双边关系和地区局势，并同意尽快举行会晤以继续磋商。
The visit follows a phone call between Safadi and Shaibani on Oct. 13, during which they discussed bilateral relations and regional developments and agreed to hold a meeting soon to continue their discussions, according to SANA.
通话中，萨法迪重申约旦支持叙利亚的安全、主权和重建工作，两国外长谴责以色列对叙利亚领土的袭击。
During the call, Safadi affirmed Jordan’s support for Syria’s security, sovereignty and reconstruction efforts, while the two ministers condemned Israeli attacks on Syrian territory.

On Sept. 24, Damascus hosted a coordination meeting of officials from the two countries to follow up on joint projects in the energy, transport, trade, communications, agriculture, and water sectors.
此前，萨法迪于9月9日访问大马士革，会见了叙利亚总统艾哈迈德·沙拉，并与沙伊巴尼探讨加强合作及落实约旦-叙利亚高级协调委员会第二次会议成果的途径。
Earlier, Safadi visited Damascus on Sept. 9, where he met Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa and discussed with Shaibani ways to strengthen cooperation and follow up on the implementation of the outcomes of the second session of the Jordanian-Syrian Higher Coordination Council.

The council’s second session was held in Amman on April 12, with the participation of two ministerial delegations representing 20 sectors, to discuss deepening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation.
