Former White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci on Sunday compared Ohio gubernatorial candidate Vivek Ramaswamy (R) to the pig characters in the George Orwell novel “Animal Farm” and predicted that the candidate will lose to opponent Amy Acton (D).

“Vivek Ramswamy has disgraced himself,” Scaramucci wrote on the social platform X. “Ramaswamy started with soaring rhetoric, post-partisan, data-dependent, technology entrepreneur, here to bring good government to the American people.”

“But like the pigs at the end of ‘Animal Farm’: they despised the two-legged farmers, by the last chapter they’re living in the house, up on their hind legs, little vests on, pocket watches,” he continued. “They became exactly what they abhorred. That’s what happened here. In order to win, politicians break their first principles. They abandon their righteous philosophies and sink into a scum position. Ramaswamy did that to himself.”

Scaramucci’s post concludes by predicting that the Ohio Republican will lose “and I think he’s finished himself as a future candidate.”Orwell’s novella, published in 1945, depicts a satirical analogue of the Russian Revolution, where farm animals rise up to take control away from their human masters and create a dictatorial system of fear resembling the Soviet Union under Joseph Stalin.

Ramaswamy has faced uproar in recent days after spending $4 million to broadcast a campaign ad featuring Acton’s mother, Donna Arthur, accusing the Democrat of being a “liar” her whole life.

Acton was removed from her mother’s custody at age 12 after her stepfather was charged with sexually abusing her. Arthur remained with Acton’s stepfather until his death.

Acton herself called the ad “despicable” and added it was “an exploitative thing to do.”Ohio Republicans like Gov. Mike DeWine (R) and his predecessor John Kasich (R) have called on Ramaswamy’s campaign to have the ad pulled. Conservative commentator Scott Jennings, an ally of President Trump who frequently defends the president and the GOP, slammed the ad and told CNN’s Anderson Cooper that it was “not good” morally and was a political misstep.

Ramaswamy took credit for the ad, doubled down on it and accused Acton of “lying about an ad that is about lying.”The candidate’s strongest defenders have been Trump and Vice President Vance, with Trump saying he trusts Acton’s mother. Both slammed Ohio Republicans over their criticism of the ad.

“[DeWine] strongly suggested that Vivek should, ‘take down the Ad,'” Trump wrote on Truth Social last Thursday. “He probably wants a Dumocrat to win, and certainly doesn’t want someone who will do a much better job than he is capable of doing. I suggested, on the other hand, that Vivek should keep it up.”

Vance said during a fraud task force press conference on Wednesday that he was “a little bit disgusted” by Republicans “whining more about that than they are about what the congressional Democrats and other Democrats want to do to the United States of America.”
