READING, Penn. — Both parties expect Pennsylvania Democratic Gov. Josh Shapiro to win re-election next week, and he’s barnstorming his state to give his party a governing trifecta for the first time in 34 years.

Shapiro told Semafor that he’ll be focused on passing a few specific items if his party wins full control of the government — not a parade of progressive bills, as Democrats in some swing states have done after winning the legislature.

I want to have a big housing and critical infrastructure fund,” Shapiro, a possible 2028 presidential contender, said after a stop at a Hispanic grocery store in Reading.

As for Democrats on Capitol Hill, Shapiro wants them to force “real accountability” of President Donald Trump and his administration if they win control of either chamber in Congress.
