Republican Kurt Alme is facing off against Democrat Alani Bankhead and independent Seth Bodnar in the race to succeed retiring Sen. Steve Daines (R) in Montana.
This is the first open race for the upper chamber in the ruby-red state since 1976. The state voted for President Trump in all three of his elections, but Bodnar, who has led Bankhead in polling ahead of the race, is seeking to capitalize on the political headwinds facing the GOP to clinch the seat. Alme is backed by the president and Daines.
