In an overnight fundraising email obtained by Fox News Digital, Newsom’s campaign told supporters, "Please help asap," warning that the race was entering "a phase of ballot curing and possible legal fights." Elias said his firm is "leading the legal effort to ensure" Colom wins.

Colom led Hyde-Smith by just 43 votes in incomplete, unofficial results, while an estimated 44,000 ballots remained outstanding, including absentee, affidavit and provisional ballots.
