A LOT Polish Airlines passenger plane flying from Warsaw to Brussels landed safely on Thursday after authorities received a suspicious report concerning the flight, Belgian public broadcaster VRT reported.

The report was received shortly before the aircraft was scheduled to land at Brussels Airport, according to the broadcaster. Airport authorities said the Federal Police immediately conducted a risk assessment in accordance with established procedures.

"Following an investigation by the Federal Police, no additional measures were deemed necessary. The aircraft has since landed safely," the airport's press service said in a statement.

Also on Thursday, several aircraft were diverted or made precautionary landings in France, Italy, the Czech Republic, Bulgaria and Austria, according to reports.

Police were investigating whether Thursday's incident was linked to similar reports involving aircraft across Europe earlier this week.
