Kyiv authorities say rescuers extinguished fire that broke out on roof of an educational institution in Obolonskyi district of Ukraine’s capital Russia and Ukraine on Tuesday traded accusations concerning overnight airstrikes, which have killed at least two people in the region surrounding Moscow, according to local authorities.

In a statement on Telegram, Andrey Vorobyov, governor of the Moscow region, claimed that 185 drones were downed across 16 municipalities in the region as it was subjected to a drone attack overnight.
“初步报告显示有6人受伤……不幸的是，有一人死亡。一名20岁的男子在拉杜姆利亚镇（索尔涅奇诺戈尔斯克区）因袭击身亡，”沃罗比约夫说道。
“Preliminary reports indicate six injuries. … Tragically, there was a fatality. A 20-year-old man died in the settlement of Radumlya (Solnechnogorsky District) as a result of the attack,” Vorobyov said.

He later updated the death toll in the region to two and the number of those injured to nine, noting that “one of the largest drone attacks” also damaged 47 private houses across seven municipalities.

Separately, Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin claimed that 650 drones flew toward the Moscow region between 8.30 pm (1730GMT) Monday and 5 am (0200GMT) Tuesday, with 105 of them destroyed as they approached the capital. He later reported that 29 more drones were shot down as they were heading toward Moscow.

Local authorities also reported that one person was injured in the Smolensk region, while two others were injured in the Russian border region of Bryansk due to overnight strikes.

In Ukraine, Mykhailo Semikin, acting head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, said that at least five people were injured due to an overnight strike on a residential building in the regional capital. Ukraine’s State Emergency Service said 11 others were rescued from the apartment building in Zaporizhzhia, noting that search and rescue operations have been completed.

Separately, Odesa Governor Oleh Kiper said a building belonging to a private enterprise was damaged in the regional capital during an overnight Russian attack, indicating that a fire broke out but was promptly extinguished by emergency responders.

“There were no casualties. Cleanup operations are currently underway at the site,” Kiper added.

Neither Moscow nor Kyiv has yet commented on each other's overnight claims, and independent verification of the claims is difficult due to the ongoing war.
