PC Lee Lane was shot in the foot after he approached two suspects at a bus stop in Angel Row at 4.50am, Nottinghamshire Police said. He continues to be treated in hospital. A woman was charged on Thursday in connection with the shooting. Detectives have now charged a man with assisting an offender.

Several others have been arrested in connection with the incident and have been released on bail pending further inquiries.
