One Indian national sustained injuries in an attack on Saudi Arabia’s Shaybah oilfield, said the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).

The Indian Embassy in Riyadh said that it was coordinating with Saudi authorities and assured all necessary assistance to the injured individual.

“The Embassy has learnt that one Indian national was injured in an attack at Shaybah oilfield today. We are in touch with Saudi authorities and await further details. We will provide all necessary help to the injured Indian national,” the embassy said in a post on @MEAIndia October 21, 2026 Earlier, Saudi authorities said that the kingdom’s air defences thwarted an attempt to target the Shaybah field, adding that two residents were killed and two others injured after shrapnel fell following the interception.

Earlier this month, the Houthi rebels launched airstrikes at the King Khalid International Airport’s terminals 3 and 4, killing 12 people and injuring more than 300, which the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said killed at least 1 Indian and wounded 10 others.

“It is learnt that one Indian national injured in the Riyadh attack has unfortunately lost his life today. We convey our heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased. We are in touch with the family and will provide all support for ensuring the early repatriation of mortal remains,” the Indian embassy had said then.
印度此前曾强烈谴责对利雅得国王哈立德国际机场的多次袭击，并表示支持沙特阿拉伯，同时呼吁立即停止对平民和民用基础设施的攻击。印度外交部表示：“对平民和民用基础设施的反复攻击是完全不可接受的，必须立即停止。”
India had earlier strongly condemned the repeated attacks at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, and expressed solidarity with Saudi Arabia while calling for an immediate end to attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure. “Repeated attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure are completely unacceptable and must cease immediately,” the MEA said.
