The northern Israeli city of Karmiel stepped up emergency preparations Tuesday and ordered inspections of all public shelters amid media reports of a possible renewed war.

The municipality said Mayor Moshe Koninski instructed the city’s security chief and security teams to check every public shelter and ensure the city was ready to respond to an emergency. It said instructions from the Israeli military’s Home Front Command remained unchanged.
