Chicago soybean futures fell to a two-month low after Lula’s presidential win in Brazil raised expectations of closer ties with China, potentially eroding the US share of the world’s biggest soybean import market.

The most-actively traded contract on the Chicago Board of Trade dropped as much as 1.7% to the lowest since August 26. Brazil has increasingly taken more market share in China, accounting for nearly 80% in the first nine months of the year despite Beijing’s trade deal with the US, its second largest supplier.
